Their facilities seem well used during the week for conferences and also community uses. They obviously have good marketing/commercial staff at the New Lawn and I'm sure we can learn from what they have achieved. I'm not doing all the away days this season but really glad I went on Saturday - really friendly club with good people. We were at a lunch with loads of their former players pre-match - there was a real sense of community involvement and identity. Would really recommend that any Wombles who missed this trip - pencil it in for next season - assuming we are in the same division!

What I would say to anyone who goes is that last season it was the friendliest club I'd ever been to. Superb set up; really friendly fans, proper community club, and an excellent club bar, with top notch food. Even remember the FGR fans applauding us when it was announced their were the best part of 400 odd wrexham fans there.

A blog on the recent Rovers v Lewes game (28/3/09), too lengthy to reproduce here but well worth the read.
Hi, I just wanted to say a big thank you to everyone at FGR. I enjoyed a great match day experience (apart from the rain!) Your club house is a credit to you, very fast and efficient service in the bar. The only disappointment is that I couldn't experience your cottage pie, which everyone who'd been before had recommended to me.
However the food I did have was delicious. Thank you again, and good luck for the rest of the season.
Best regards

How can you have a great day when your team lose 0-5?
1. Visit a great new stadium.
2. Have a warm welcome over a pint, watching the footy on TV
3. Sitting in a friendly, family oriented environment having a right good banter with the home fans
4. Seeing Dennis on his feet singing 'Redditch till I die' & then getting a round of applause from all parts of the ground!
5. Being served within 2 minutes at halftime
6. A friendly referee having the craic with us
7. Being invited into the members area for a post match drink
8. Being shown round the ground by a Director of FGR's at the end of the game

...but the afternoon was made by the friendliness of the home fans which was phenomenal, the hospitality second to none and what a setup! They deserve all the success they can get in the next few years. We have an awful lot to learn in many ways from their attitude.

The bangers and mash were great!! Made a nice change from some of the unsavoury burgers we have faced this season on the road.... Nice club, great stewards and welcoming fans. And what a lovely village Nailsworth is!! I hope you guys claw your way out that drop zone as I for one want to visit again next season......

What I'd like to say to you all in deepest Gloucs thank you for a great day, the football wasn't great, the journey long ... but the warmth on a bittery cold day was brilliant. The stewards and Police allowed us to stand, sing and poke fun at you all with a sympathetic eye that was non- confrontational. I'm Sec to our Res and know the hours etc... we all put into the game at semi pro level and your hospitality was fantastic.

Long journey in freezing conditions. Big accident on the M5 delayed us getting there, but we received a warm welcome and a delicious cottage pie. Very friendly fans at FGR.
