Trust Open Meeting

The FGR Supporters Trust held its first open meeting for members last Saturday evening (22 November) in the Carole Embrey Suite directly after the Mansfield Town game. Membership of the Trust now tops 100 and through fees, donations and various fundraising activities, funds now exceed £3500 and are expected to rise to £5000 through current pledges over the coming fortnight.

The Trust is more than just a fundraising body and is producing 10000 flyers every month distributed around the area by fans and members alike. The first of a number of planned visits to local schools has been carried out with the support from players, Andy Mangan and Alex Lawless, on hand to answer questions from the pupils of Hempsted School in Gloucester and to demonstrate some of their footballing skills. Links are now established with the local community with the Trust becoming members of the Nailsworth Community Partnership.

A cheque for £3000 was presented to Football Club Director, John Clapp, to acquire Trust’s first shares in the Club. John commented very favourably on all the good work carried out by the Trust on behalf of the Club, and of course the fans and members of the community they represent.

The Trust now has a target of £8000 in shares to meet 10% of the total funds being sought by the Directors. New members, further donations and additional fundraising will be sought between now and christmas.

If you are not already a member of the FGR Supporters Trust, you can join by completing an application form available from the main reception office at the Club or you can download a form on the how to join section. Cheques for membership fees and any additional donations should be made payable to FGR Supporters Trust. A post box for receipt of all Trust mail is available in reception at the Club.
