Supporters Direct Conference and AGM

Trust board member Richard Overthrow attended the Supporters Direct Annual Conference and AGM at the NEC on Friday October 16th. Around 180 delegates, representing 57 supporters trusts were present, and through a series of workshops on a range of issues, many experiences and good ideas were exchanged.

Delegates represented a wide range of clubs and campaign experiences, from the successful Exeter City, now the only trust-run club in the Football League, and other success stories like AFC Wimbledon and FC United of Manchester , to trusts from crisis-hit clubs like Merthyr and Aylesbury United.

Many ideas were forthcoming on how a trust can support its club, the fans and the community, and the FGR Trust will benefit from this valuable interaction.

The success of the ultimate supporter-run club was also shared when an official from FC Barcelona gave a presentation.
