The Trust Helps the Club Build Bridges with its Home Town

One of the aims of the Trust is to help the football club strengthen links with the local community. As well as the schools initiative we have also been working closer to home by getting involved with businesses and activities in Nailsworth.

The Nailsworth Community Partnership was founded in January 2007. It is a coming together of local organisations and associations within Nailsworth and surrounding parishes that wish to support and initiate projects that improve and enhance the property, heritage, environment and community life of the area. It acts as a facilitator, bringing together different groups within the community to assist the execution of such projects.

When the Trust was formed it was invited to join the Partnership, and Nailsworth resident and Trust Board member Richard Overthrow readily agreed. He has since attended a number of meetings and provided useful contribution from the point of view of the football club and its supporters.
As a result the Trust, its involvement in the Partnership and its aims to strengthen links with the local community have been well received and were recently the subject of an article in the local paper, the Nailsworth News.

The Partnership represents a useful means by which the Trust can get involved with the town and develop a mutually-beneficial working relationship. Of course, we don't stop there - other initiatives are also being looked into.
