Trust Holds First AGM

It seems only like yesterday that the idea of a Supporters Trust was first spawned, but it was last April, after the match against Rushden & Diamonds, when several fans gathered in the Green Man to learn more and give their support. The idea gained momentum, the Trust came into being on 1 July 2008, was officially launched in October and at the end of February 2009, the first Annual General Meeting of the Forest Green Rovers Supporters Society Limited was held.

The Trust has come a long way in that brief time and much has been achieved, as Acting Chairman, Tim Barnard confirmed to the members in attendance, as part of his Report. Formed initially in response to the Football Club’s intended change in constitution and to act as a vehicle for supporters to purchase shares in the Club, the Trust has now moved into further areas where it can benefit the Football Club and also the wider areas of the community.

Acting Treasurer, Bob Savage, confirmed that the Society was in a healthy financial position with almost £7000 in assets. Income has been generated by membership fees and kind donations and boosted by busy eBay trading, where fans and members have contributed all manner of items for sale. The first Trust organised event, a quiz, successfully raised over £200 for Society funds. More events will follow in the months ahead.

Bob Savage has put all the meeting details together. The document, which includeds the Agenda, the Minutes and the various Reports and Proposals discussed, is available for download on the minutes page.
