Message to Supporters from the Board of Directors
The Board has worked hard this summer, much of which has been under extreme pressure, due matters outside their control. Having now lost three members of the Board since the end of last season, the remaining five directors have therefore a greater workload than ever before. It is therefore imperative that the image of the club is maintained throughout all we do to move the club onwards and upwards. With many initiatives already in place and many to follow to make the New Lawn a pleasurable experience for those who come to watch football, the Board are issuing the following warning.
As of the start of pre season matches, the Safety Officer and all stewards will now take positive action against anyone who spoils a match day through the use of any language not deemed suitable around the stadium. A minority who attend matches seem to take the view that bad language is acceptable and the policy of the club is that it will no longer tolerate those individuals who have been warned. Several years ago at our old ground this culture was nipped in the bud by issuing written warning notices to those who were identified as being detrimental to the good name of the club. This system will once again be deployed and if after a warning notice is served on an individual and that person is again subject of a similar offence they will be banned.
The Board wishes to make it quite clear that just because someone pays at the turnstiles to enter, it does not give them the right to be abusive to anyone, whether that other person is a match official, player, employee of the club or a visiting supporter.
There is in place an overall club policy around 'Unacceptable Behaviour' and this can read or downloaded here:
