I am also a keen follower of Manchester United, and watch them whenever I can having already watched them this season. I regularly attend England matches along with my wife Criss (who like me has been a season ticket holder here at FGR for the past 8 seasons).
I am Co-editor and responsible for the design and origination of ‘Connect’ – the Trust’s Newsletter. I am also Programme Editor for England Schoolboys and have so far produced 10 programmes for the boys – including their match v Scotland at Wembley in April where I was invited as a guest for pre-match luncheon and watched the match from the Royal box.
Born in Stroud I am employed in Gloucester as a Pre-Press Specialist (fancy name for Graphic Designer), and I have worked in the printing industry since leaving school. For 5 seasons (2001 – 2006) I originated the Matchday programmes for Forest Green Rovers, and I have supported the Club since their days as Stroud FC although my links with FGR go back to the 1970’s when I went on tour with the club to Germany.
I am a long standing member of FGR Supporters Club, GRASS and ‘Sponsor-a-Goal’ and helped out on several occasions with the painting of the new stadium. I strongly feel that the fantastic advancements made by the club over the past 14 years deserves greater support from locals, and feel that the sterling work being done by the Trust to market the club and boost attendances will hopefully pay dividends and make Gloucestershire people more aware of what the club has to offer both on and off the pitch.
I’m Tom Williams and I moved to Gloucestershire far more years ago than I care to remember! I became interest in Forest Green Rovers when my younger daughter persuaded me that it would be a good idea if we supported our local football team.
I have had a number of careers, but currently I run an Office Supplies business in Stonehouse, I am a bee keeper and also one of the Councillors on Stroud District Council representing Cainscross.
Born and bred in Gloucestershire, David Drew was elected MP for the Stroud Contituency in May 1997 having previously served as a District and County Councillor. A passionate Forest Green Supporter, David is also a keen cyclist. He lives with his family in Stonehouse.
Lisa Astle has joined the Trust Board as Treasurer, having previously been running the accounts at AE Smith in Nailsworth. Lisa was brought up in Nailsworth and has been supporting FGR since the 1970s and very much enjoys the family atmosphere at The New Lawn.
Born in the Railway Hotel Nailsworth, when Nailsworth could boast a railway, and an hotel. From the age of two lived in Forest Green where my first memories of FGR was walking through football shirts hanging on the washing line, my mum use to wash the first team shirts.
Saturday mornings during the football season, as a young lad me and my mate along with his dad would go to the ground to get it ready for the game that afternoon. First job was to light the fire in the boiler which in turn heated the water for the bath after the game. When I say light the fire I mean, paper, wood, coal etc. and a boiler Fred Dibnah would have been proud of. Played my football for Horsley Utd at Stroud league level, only returning to watch FGR during the season they were promoted to the Conference.
An Engineer by trade, most of which was spent at T H & J Daniels where from an apprentice, I worked my way up through the drawing office, mould design, and into sales, becoming a sales area manager. This job taking me all over the UK and Europe.
The Supporters Trust is a key group within the workings of the the football club and company as a whole. The more supporters who sign up to it, the stronger it will become and so will its voice within the club. With the new chairman installed, a new era is opening up for the club and its supporters, be apart of this new opportunity. Join the Trust and together we can have a say in, and help shape the future direction of the club.
'Joining the Trust board at this challenging time is more important than ever. Many of us in
Nailsworth are proud to have a successful, professional club in the town and want to lend our support. Not many towns have a football Cinderella story like Forest Green Rovers. I want to take forward supporters' wishes by playing my part in building a successful future for FGR. The club has so much to offer the town; not just enjoyment of great professional football, but also the stadium, pitch and top leisure facilities. It would be great to see people in Nailsworth able to make more use of facilities here.'
Fi Macmillan has lived in Nailsworth for 5 years with her family, she is a District Councillor for the town and wants to create stronger links between the Club and the Community.
